This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to and governs Universe Stationery Co., Ltd.(“the company”, “we” or “us”), registered in Korea, operating the Storynation service and Avatarnation service, as well as all related websites, networks, applications, and other services provided by us and on which a link to this Privacy Policy is displayed collect, use, disclose and otherwise process Personal Information. “Personal Information” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into and is subject to the Universe Stationery Terms of Service, describes the information that we gather from you on the Service, how we use and disclose such information, and the steps we take to protect such information.


1. Personal Information We Collect


We may collect Personal Information about you from various sources described below.

① We collect the following personal information for membership registration, login, and membership management.

A. Sign up for membership with Kakao account: [Required] Social ID, name

B. Sign up for membership with Naver account: [Required] Social ID

C. Sign up for membership with Google/Apple account: [Required] Social ID, email

D. Member identification/guardian identification: [Required] Name, date of birth, gender, native/foreign information, mobile phone number, mobile carrier information, personal identification information(DI)

② We collect email and bank account information additionally during the author registration process within the Storynation service.

③ In the process of using the paid service, the following information may be collected by a payment agency.

A. Common: Payment date, payment method, payment amount, payment currency, payment IP

B. When paying by credit card: Card company name, card number, etc.

C. When using simple payment service: Transaction information (cell phone number, product name, etc.)

D. When paying by mobile phone: Mobile phone number, carrier, payment approval number, etc.

④ In the process of using the service, information such as content used, date of use, date of purchase, target of sponsorship, date of sponsorship, and amount of sponsorship can be automatically generated or collected.

⑤ In the process of using the service, information such as device information (model name, device ID, MAC address, OS), IP address, cookies, fraudulent use history, and service use history can be automatically generated or collected.

3. How We Use Personal Information We Collect


① We use the member(“you”)'s personal information for the following purposes and do not use it for purposes other than those specified. If the purpose is changed, the necessary measures will be implemented, such as obtaining separate consent.

A. Overall member management, such as confirmation of intention to sign up for membership, identification of members and legal representatives, and confirmation of intention to withdraw membership, etc.

B. Service delivery, service improvement, new service development, etc.

C. Paid in settlement based on revenue generation of posts

D. Payment and supply of goods, services, etc. according to the purchase and use of paid services

E. Analysis of service usage records and provision of personalized services

F. Customer consultation, partnership, delivery of notices, etc.

4. Providing and Sharing Personal Information


The company shall use the member's personal information within the scope of the stated purpose and shall not use it for any purpose other than the stated purpose or provide it to a third party without the consent of the member. However, exceptions are made in the following cases.

6. Deletion of Personal Information

① The company deletes the personal information without delay when personal information becomes unnecessary, such as the lapse of the personal information retention and use period, and the achievement of the purpose of processing.

② Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, if personal information is to be preserved for a certain period in accordance with other statutes, it shall be preserved for the period specified by the relevant statutes.

③ The company deletes personal information recorded and stored in the form of electronic files using technical or physical methods so that records cannot be reproduced, and the personal information printed on paper is deleted by pulverizer or incineration.


7. Your Rights and Duties

① Members can inquire or modify their personal information kept by us, or request cancellation of the service.

② Members can withdraw their consent to collect and use personal information at any time by canceling the service.

③ You are responsible for accidents caused by inaccurate information entered by you, and your membership may be lost if you steal other people's information or enter false information.

④ Members who damage other people's information and dignity can be punished by related laws and regulations.


8. Installation, Operation, and Rejection of Automatic Personal Information Collecting devices

① To provide personalized and customized services, we use "cookies" that store and retrieve your information from time to time. Cookies are a small amount of information that the server used to run the website sends to the user's browser and is sometimes stored on the user's computer.

A. Purpose of use of cookies: It is used to provide optimized customized information and services, including advertisements, by identifying user visits, usage patterns, and size of users.

B. Installation, operation, and rejection of cookies: You have the option of installing cookies. As a result, users can allow all cookies by setting options in their web browser, go through confirmation each time they are saved, or refuse to save all cookies.

② We collect users' advertisement identification values (ADID/IDFA) to provide customized services and advertisements when users use mobile app services. Users have a choice about the company collecting advertisement identification values, and can set whether to allow them from the menu below.

9. Data Security and Retention

① We protect members' personal information safely through information protection measures in accordance with relevant laws and internal policies.

② We use security programs to take measures to prevent damage caused by computer viruses and hacking.

③ Personal information is safely stored and managed through encryption, and personal information can be transmitted safely.

④ We are using a security device to prevent personal information leakage.

⑤ We limit the number of people in charge of handling personal information to a minimum and do our best to comply with laws and internal policies through administrative measures such as education for those in charge of handling personal information.

11. Modification of Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy will be applied from the effective date, and if there is a change in the content of the Privacy Policy, it will be notified through a notice within the service at least 7 days before the revision.
